Take Action Today
(June, 2026) We want to help Chicago residents ask the city council to create the mandatory bird-friendly building design ordinance that Bird Friendly Chicago has been working toward for several years.
Will you help us save birds?
There are two important actions that you can take right now. (And maybe more to come later.)
Thank you for speaking up for birds !
Alders Maria Hadden, Brian Hopkins, Ruth Cruz, and Daniel La Spata are currently interested in a bird-friendly building ordinance but we need more support from the council. If you live or work in Chicago, please use the form linked below to ask your elected official to co-sponsor a new mandatory bird-friendly building ordinance.
Bird Friendly Chicago is helping interested people advocate for this ordinance in person. They are offering education, training, and everything else you need to know to have a successful meeting with your alderperson.
The Chicago Collisions Coalition is a group of organizations that has come together to support Bird Friendly Chicago’s long-time effort to see a mandatory bird-friendly building ordinance in the City of Chicago. The Coalition encourages those who live and work in Chicago to ask the Chicago City Council to require that people build with birds in mind. If your organization can reach Chicago residents and would like to join the Coalition, please contact us.
The Coalition is made up of the following groups and organizations who have joined forces to help the public tell their elected officials that Chicago should be bird friendly:
